David is also a Level 3 Coach on the England Athletics National Coach Development Programme for Javelin and the javelin coach at Loughborough University.
David is involved in Sport Parent EU. Sport Parent EU is an international project that aims to improve the support that is provided to, and available for, the parents, carers, and guardians of children and young people involved in sport. With such support, it is hoped that children and parents can have a more enjoyable and safer experience in sport.
David, on behalf of UK coaching, says "UK Coaching are delighted to be a part of the Sport Parent EU project. We feel parents and coaches can both make a fantastic contribution to ensuring a positive sport and physical activity experience for all young people. By supporting this project we are proud to contribute towards helping coaches and parents meet the needs of young people. We are very much aware that parents are often also coaches and the Sports Parent EU project also offers world leading information for those parents who are fulfilling both roles."
